Pulse3
Once again Genuitec is out with another mind-boggling release of Pulse, making it much easier for the teams to collaborate and share software. Pulse3 brings – significant enhancements to the UI making it more intuitive, improved dashboard, enhanced ability to manage your software and more control, improved security, plenty of goodies for both – free and private label editions. Some of the highlights are -
Significant UI enhancements:
The UI has been completely re-tailored and looks more intuitive. It includes the highly interactive dashboard that allow the teams to easily synchronize the entire process of software creation, management and delivery to the end user. It also provides a separate view for profiles – “MyProfiles” that shows all the shared and unshared profiles. The toolbar makes it more simple to work with profiles. Selecting a profile opens up a view with – Overview, Software and Collaborate tabs, for managing the profiles and collaborating with your pals. Hovering over
icon shows up all the details about a particular section – no more googling for help, its right there in Pulse3. In addition, you can categorize the profiles – something that was not part of Pulse2. With each section providing sufficient information and with simple and clean UI, I believe the user can get started with no time and effort. All the changes in the UI has drastically simplified the user interaction.
Improved sharing:
Pulse3 provides a new Collaboration page that enables smarter way of sharing profiles with your pals. The wizard for sharing profiles has also been improved. You can also preconfigure a setup before making it available to others or set up a configuration for yourself, using “A Team of One” section. You can start collaborating just by pasting the invitation ID under “Accept an invitation” section. This can be considered as an alternative to accepting notifications from Notification section. You get all this power with just one click.
Software configuration control:
The “Software” page enables you – add software to your profile, keep track of the added software(s), sharing and unsharing software with your team, get information about the software updates, and provides more details about the software – EPIC votes and other details. You can add software by browsing through the categories and also from any public update sites(even you can add update sites very easily). For adding a software all you need to do is – select the software and just double click it and you get it. This reminds me of how difficult it is to add software in Eclipse, with Pulse3 it has been narrowed down to a double click
.
Managing Groups:
The updated Groups page, gives you all the power to control the groups and the members – Enabling you to create and delete Groups, add and delete members, control permissions of the members and profiles and keep track of the shared profiles. Once again, all the details you need can be obtained by just hovering over – (i) icon – no need to run for the help pages.
